Timo Paajanen was awarded the Meritoriously Certified Award at Project Days 2024. The PRY annually rewards particularly meritorious certification achievements.
I am Timo Paajanen, a 53-year-old cybersecurity and IT multiskilled professional from Helsinki. On weekends, I enjoy the peace and quiet of Vihti with sports, family and housework. My IT career started during my DI studies in 1993 at Nokia Networks, and my first project manager position in 1997 took me on a varied career path.
Since Nokia, I have gained experience as a telecoms consultant, as a team leader in operators and for more than 20 years at Veikkaus in various management roles. I have led major projects such as the revamping of the point of sale network, IT consolidation of gambling companies, cloud migration and the construction of an international lottery centre. In these projects, I have combined my technical and management skills to develop sustainable and efficient solutions. In 2023, I started as an entrepreneur focusing on cybersecurity development, combining IT, cybersecurity and project expertise to meet customer needs. My strength in project management is the ability to take into account the client’s needs and the specificities of the business, IT and cybersecurity environment.
The IPMA certification was a significant learning experience that brought new perspectives and strengthened my skills. I was pleasantly surprised to receive the 2024 Meritoriously Certified recognition at IPMA C-level. This award is a reminder that self-improvement never ends. The certification showed how project management skills can support the success of an entire organisation – smooth collaboration and clear objectives lead to better results.
I look forward to the future. My goal is to deepen my security skills and possibly pursue project management certifications. My job offers me the opportunity to combine my passion and skills, while helping my clients develop more secure and efficient solutions. I am proud to help my clients improve the security of their digital environment.
