To better understand the current state of PMO work, PRY surveyed PMO professionals across industries in spring 2025. A total of 55 organizations responded, sharing valuable insights into their top development goals and everyday challenges.

The Top Three Development Priorities:

  • Resource and capacity management (50%)
  • Measuring and demonstrating project value and impact (45%)
  • The PMO’s role in strategy execution (40%)

In addition, many responses highlighted:

  • The growing role of the PMO in supporting change management
  • The rise of AI in PMO and project work
  • The need to standardize project models and practices

The responses paint a picture of the modern PMO as an increasingly strategic actor, yet one that still faces operational and organizational hurdles:

  • Data is scattered and does not support effective decision-making
  • Resource management is difficult, especially when projects compete with line functions
  • The PMO’s strategic role and impact are unclear to leadership—concrete metrics are missing
  • Prioritization and value-based analysis of projects need better tools and practices
  • AI presents exciting opportunities—but also uncertainty and capability gaps

What do PMO Professionals expect from the November Summit?

Respondents hope the upcoming Master Class in Kakola will provide:

  • Insights into how PMOs can act as strategic business partners and deliver measurable value
  • Best practices for portfolio leadership and prioritization
  • Concrete examples of PMO development and interactive workshops with peers—not just presentations
  • A pragmatic look at the role of AI in supporting both PMO functions and project delivery

PMO Summit 2025 Master Class Will Address These Needs Directly

The survey results serve as a clear roadmap for the PMO Summit 25 Master Class, held at Kakola in Turku, November 18–19, 2025. The Master Class will be facilitated by Dr. Robert Joslin, founder of AIPMO and one of the most internationally respected experts in PMO developmen
